Frequently Asked Questions
When are practices? Practices are 1 hour, 1 day a week (no practices on Wed., Sat., & Sun) Coaches pick the time and day they want to practice. We tend to follow this hierarchy when making teams.
1. The skill level of the player.
2. When can the coach practice.
3. Have the whole family practice on the same night. (We try to reach this, but it is not always possible)
When are games? Games are every Saturday with the youngest division going first at about 9 or 10AM, and then the oldest division at the end. Each game lasts 1 hour and the youngest divisions play 2 games at a time.
Where are games and practices? All games and practices are in our gym.
What equipment do I need to buy for my child? Your registration covers a t-shirt with their name and number on the back. You will need to have appropriate shorts, socks, and clean inside shoes. (Outside shoes are not allowed on the gym floor)
Are boys and girls on the same teams? Yes. We would be open to having separate divisions if we had enough players to make it a positive, competitive experience for everyone.
Is this league just for Oakfield Baptist Church members? No. Everyone is welcome! If you are looking for a church home we would love to have you visit us sometime.
How is this league different? We really try to achieve our goal of teaching competitive skills while using the Bible to encourage positive sportsmanship and character development. Your child will learn Bible verses and apply them to their life on and off the court.
What are the age divisions? We make our divisions based on registrations. But generally we try to keep it: 4yrs - 1st / 2-3rd / 4-5th / 6-12th
If you have older kids who want to play, please e-mail Pastor Chris, and if there is enough interest we will extend the league.
Any other questions please call the church or e-mail Pastor Chris.
